Jessie Holden from Belleville, Illinois...
We think every face tells a story. What was Jessie Holden's story?
Maybe as Jessie sat for her photo, she was thinking about playing on the new tree swing that her father made for her and her brothers and sisters that morning. She was hoping she would get to swing first; afterall, she was the oldest and she knew that once her younger sister got on the swing, she would never get off! Sitting still for her picture was hard - Jessie just wanted to get outside and play!

This antique cabinet card photograph is in good condition - especially considering it is around 130 years old. There are small wear areas on the edges of the card. The photograph is intact. The bottom of the card is embossed with "W.F. Crouch, Belleville, Ill." The back of the card has "Jessie Holden from Belleville, Ills." written on it in pencil. There is also a number "23.973" written on the back of the card - this appears to be a family tree record number. Please use the ZOOM tool to get a close up view of this item and its condition.
