Vintage Wood Box with Lid, Handle and Metal Label Plate, Navy Bureau of Ships WWII (c1945)
So many clever uses for this old wood box, once used in the Navy during World War II!
The metal label on this box makes it an interesting piece for any decor. The label says:
"Sensitivity Test Plug, Type US/D Nancy Receiver, Navy No. 3000, Bureau of Ships, Radio Corporation of America, Camden New Jersey, June 25, 1945"
Use the box as a tool box in your garage, Man Cave, shop, or studio - perfect for holding tools and craft supplies. Raise the lid and use the box as a rustic planter on a deck or patio.
This wood box is in very good vintage condition. The wood box is strong and secure, and heavy duty. There are no breaks or cracks in the wood, and the finish of the wood is still very nice. The box has dovetail joints, making the box very strong. The inside of the box is very clean. The inside has two metal plates attached to the inside of the lid - giving this box even more character. The handle and latch are securely attached. The piano hinges work perfectly and are strong. The latches have some surface rust on them, as shown.
