Moon Mullins was created by Frank Willard and was a very popular comic strip from June 19, 1923 to June 2, 1991. The comic was all about the lives of several lowbrow characters that lived at the Schmaltz boarding house. The main character, Moon (short for Moonshine), was a would-be prizefighter who was always short of cash but had an appetite for high living. Moon took a room in the boarding house at 1323 Wump Street in 1924 and never left, staying there for 67 years. This figurine is the character "Uncle Willie" from the comic strip.
Makes a great gift for a comic collector!
