Cleopatra from "Antony and Cleopatra" by William Shakespeare...
This rare illustration is from an 1835 book of etchings and engravings pertaining to William Shakespeare.
The text beneath the print reads "Cleopatra". Beneath the illustration are the words "K Meadows Pinxt " and "H.W. Smith Sc".
The print is highly detailed - more than shown in the photos.
Frame the print and hang it in your home or office. Incorporate the print into your paper art - nice for journals, scrapbooks, gift tags, and more. Make copies of this page and use the copies to wrap small gifts. So many possibilities!
We have lots of other antique book plates, lithographs, and paper ephemera in our shop (and more from this book, as shown in the last photo).
This antique illustration is in good condition, especially since it is 178 years old. The paper has yellowed and has splotches on the page, as shown. There is a small tear along the bottom edge of the paper. The left edge of the print is where it was taken from an old book (which is how we found this page). The text "Cleopatra" and "K Meadows Pinxt" is printed under the picture, along with "H.W. Smith Sc". Please use the ZOOM tool to get a close up view of this item and its condition.
