Antique Photograph Cabinet Card of Man from Indiana (c.1880s)
A mustached man from Indiana...
We think every face tells a story. What was this man's story?
He was the oldest of three mustached brothers (you can see their photos in separate listings). One of his younger brothers had a serious sweet-tooth and was always making pastries that had names he couldn't even pronounce. His youngest brother was forever building models of boats and ships, and sailing them down the river. Such fools. But not him. He was all business. Serious business. Maybe a bit shady business. His father and grandfather where in the legal field. Growing up in this environment, he knew his way around the loop holes of the law and had become a very successful (although ruthless) business man. When banks turned down the townsfolk for loans, they knew HE wouldn't turn them away. He borrowed them all the money they needed and charged a hefty interest rate in return. He hid all his money within the walls of his house. Hmmm.... wonder if that money is still there?
What do you think his story was?
